There is a support page created by Microsoft which explains how to change the contact information for the account attached to Outlook. However, to change the information, use the instructions below or visit the website:

  • Start Outlook application.
  • From the Tools menu, go to Accounts.
  • On the Mail tab, select the e-mail account you want to change the information for, and then click Properties.
  • Input the necessary data, save the changes and that's it.

I turned OFF the auto-populate option of email addresses. Now, I click on "To" and select the email address. However, before I select the email address, I have to open a drop down menu and select "Contacts," which is too time consuming. How can I skip this last step?

Answer by Leonard Moore

The faster way to add a contact is to use the search function. After you click the To button, in the field where the cursor it's situated, start typing the name of the contact or any relevant information about it. The program will automatically provide the best matching in the filed below. To add a contact, just select in from the list. This process is much faster that any other one.

I have Microsoft Outlook 2007. When I get an email, this is entered directly into the received email folder. When I open an email, this goes to another folder or gets totally deleted. How can I fix this problem?

Answer by Leonard Moore

This behavior might be encountered because of some settings that you made to your Outlook program. To be noticed that some mails might be delivered directly to the Spam folder. You might want to check that folder before proceeding forward. To restore the settings of Outlook to the default state, you need go to to C:\ Users\ Username\ AppData\ Local\ Microsoft\ Outlook. Some files might be hidden, so to view them, you first need to go to Start and in the search bar type Folder Option and press Enter. In the new window, make sure that Show hidden files option is selected. Once you reached the destination mentioned above, delete all the files from there. Also, go to Start > Control Panel > Mail and delete the profile(s). After you did all this, restart Outlook and set up your account again. You shouldn't experience any more problems with deleted mails.

Live update of the Microsoft Word package. I need to do that as soon as possible. How can I do it?

S
Answer by Sean Hill

The updates for the entire Microsoft Office package are distributed through the Windows Update program. This means that in order to update it, you need to launch Windows Update first. Go to Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet then perform a manual check for updates. The Office updates will be listed when you click the more details button. Based on the size of updates and Internet speed, the process can take from a few minutes to 1-2 hours maximum.

I can't start Microsoft Office Outlook. I can't open the Outlook window, a set of folders can't be opened and the file C:\Document and Setting\abc\Local Setting\Application data\Microsoft\Outlook.pst can't be accessed due to a data error (cyclic redundancy check). What can I do?

A
Answer by Aiden McLeod

The developers are aware of this problem. It usually comes up after the program got synchronized and some data, for example, emails, was downloaded into your computer. The cause of this problem is a corrupted PST file. To fix it, you can perform a scan of your hard disk for errors. To do this, try going to Start, type cmd in the search bar and press Enter. It is possible that the Administrator password is required. In the command prompt type chkdsk /f and press Enter. After the ChkDsk is finished, close the command prompt and start your Outlook. If the program is still not fixed, you can visit the following website in order to perform a repair of your Outlook personal folder file.
